Bus Priority Rapid Deployment Fund: Paisley Rd West between Dumbreck Rd and Bellahouston Dr (W) & between Helen St and Dumbreck Rd (E)

Bus Priority Rapid Deployment funding from Transport Scotland will see a series of measures implemented to give priority to buses at key points across Glasgow's road network. It is intended that the temporary infrastructure, which will include bus lanes and upgrades to road traffic signals, will improve journey times and the reliability of bus services which will benefit those requiring to using public transport during COVID-19, and encourage a shift to more sustainable transport options as pandemic restrictions ease.

Measure(s):

Pop up Bus Lanes

Purpose:

Improve bus journey time and reliability to encourage travelling public to use buses and not private cars.

Detail:

The measure will see the following introduced:

  • 24-hour bus lane westbound between Dumbreck Rd and Bellahouston Dr (extending existing 24-hour bus lane)
  • Peak hour bus lane (Mon - Sat 7:00-9:30 and 16:00-19:00) eastbound between Helen St and Dumbreck Rd (extending existing peak hour bus lane)
