(a)By Councillor Frank McAveety:-

"Council is deeply concerned about the impact the UK Government's further austerity cuts will have on the people of Glasgow; recognises the important steps Council has taken to mitigate the cuts so far; believes these cuts to be an unnecessary punitive attack on the poorest in our society; further recognises Council's commitment to protect the poorest and most vulnerable in our communities through a variety of measures; notes with concern that added to this, the Scottish Government has disproportionately cut this Council's share of Scotland's local government settlement from 13.91% for 2008-09 to 12.81% for 2015-16, equivalent to a loss of £109million in the current financial year; and resolves to continue to use every available power of this Council to mitigate the impact of the cuts on Glaswegians." View Papers
(b)By Councillor Alex Wilson:-

"Council notes with concern the decision to tender carer centre services in Glasgow.

Glasgow's six carer centres provide vital advice and support to the city's tens of thousand of carers.

Council agrees to suspend the tendering process and to engage with carer centres and partners to find a positive outcome for both carers and this Council, that meet the requirements of Best Value and the needs of our city's carers." View Papers
(c)By Councillor Martha Wardrop:-

"Glasgow City Council aims to be a city which leads on recycling.

Council notes that the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 requires some food businesses to segregate food waste for separate collection and acknowledges that this is applicable to council services distributing, preparing or serving food.

The Council must take all reasonable steps to apply the waste hierarchy to the management of waste and be prepared to present food waste for separate collection.

The Council agrees that all users of Council and ALEO premises will have access to on-site recycling facilities including for food waste. Use of these facilities will be supported by a local awareness campaign to encourage participation in waste prevention, reuse, and recycling." View Papers
(d)By Councillor Feargal Dalton:-

"Next year will see the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland, a watershed moment in that country's history that ultimately led to the establishment of an independent Irish state. Many Irish Scots, such as Coatbridge-born Margaret Skinnider, Edinburgh-born James Connolly and many others, from around Scotland and here in Glasgow, played a pivotal role in the Easter Rising and the subsequent War of Independence.

This Council welcomes the launch earlier this year in the Irish Consulate in Edinburgh of the 1916 Rising Centenary Committee - Scotland. It acknowledges that this committee and its endeavours emcompasses a wide array of Irish and Scottish community interests, relatives of the participants in the Easter Rising, cultural, heritage and sports organisations, academics, representatives from the arts, the trade union movement, the Scottish and Irish Governments and politicians from different parties in Scotland, and looks forward to the events planned to commerorate the centenary.

Council therefore calls on the Chief Executive to write to the Irish Consul in Scotland to welcome the work of the Committee and to offer any and all assistance for centenary commemorations." View Papers

"Council welcomes the distribution of 1,000 refreshed Council PCs/laptops to Kinship Carers.

Some 500 devices have been confirmed as being requested, these will be made available to the Kinship Carers themselves from area team hub locations as managed by SWS.

Council welcomes future device donations, the allocation of which would be decided in accordance with a charitable devices policy, which is currently being drafted. Council recommends that this devices policy looks to include other partner organisations and companies within Glasgow." View Papers
(f)By Councillor Glenn Elder:-

"Glasgow City Council recognises that the Westminster Government's proposed referendum on the European Union could have a significant impact on the economic environment which local government operates in. As a responsible local authority with long term plans for the city, which includes funding from the EU, it behoves that the Council examines how it would affect its ability to provide services should the result of the referendum be for the UK to withdraw from the European Union.

Consequently Council calls on the Chief Executive to conduct an assessment of what the financial impact on the council would be in the event of the UK leaving the European Union." View Papers
(g)By Councillor Matt Kerr:-

"Council recognises the important role that kinship carers play in the welfare of vulnerable children and young people; is deeply concerned at the Scottish Government's disproportionate allocation of kinship care allowance funds to Glasgow; is further concerned that this funding model does not take account of the scale of need within Glasgow and the current level of children and young people in kinship care; believes this to be a social injustice perpetrated on some of Glasgow's most vulnerable children; notes that this will result in a significant resource demand and pressure on frontline services, including significant pressures on carers and other vulnerable groups; and calls on the Scottish Government to deliver a finance settlement that provides the additional £2.5m required to fully fund kinship care in Glasgow." View Papers
(h)By Bailie Fariha Thomas:-

"Council fully condemns hate crime in all its forms and strongly believes that any acts motivated by prejudice or hate against a person because of their race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or transgender identity to be unacceptable; believes that Glasgow is a welcoming city and that the decency and tolerance of the overwhelming majority of Glaswegians will ensure that this continues to be the case; recognises the excellent work of the Hate Crime Working Group to bring together key public bodies to tackle hate crime in Glasgow; is committed to defending the rights of everyone in Glasgow to live their lives free from fear and discrimination; therefore agrees to sign the Glasgow Hate Crime Pledge and work towards the appointment of Hate Crime Ambassadors across the Council Family; and resolves to continue to work with our statutory and voluntary sector partners to eradicate hate crime across Glasgow." View Papers
