10Notice of Motion to Council from Councillor John Mason

"Council warmly congratulates the Scottish women's curling team which recently won the Gold Medal at the Winter Olympics. Council also notes that Scotland is the home of curling and considers that it is a sport which should be available to a wide cross section of people in Glasgow. Council is also embarrassed to note that, with the potential loss of Braehead to Renfrewshire, the City will be left with no ice rink whatsoever.

Therefore, Council resolves to increase its efforts to ensure that Glasgow obtains an ice rink in the short to medium term. Such a facility must be affordable to all residents and in particular must be available to those wishing to take part in curling and ice hockey, as well as ice skating."
