8Notice of Motion to Council by Councillor John Mason

"Council notes some progress on important city issues over the last four years, including the renewal of the secondary schools and the commitment to remove Glasgow's housing debt, thus allowing improvement in housing conditions.

However, Council regrets that the result has been secondary schools controlled by the private sector, and social housing owned and controlled by the undemocratic and unresponsive Glasgow Housing Association.

Council further notes the total failure of the Labour Administration to make any significant impact on the appalling state of primary school buildings. In addition no real progress has been made in achieving a better financial deal for Glasgow from central government.

Therefore, Council considers that the city has been let down by Labour over many years."
