"This Council congratulates the organisers of Fair Trade Fortnight and welcomes efforts to highlight the availability of Fair Trade products in the city. Council instructs the Chief Executive to bring forward a report examining the implications of Glasgow becoming a Fair Trade City."

"Council notes with great regret the recent death of Kriss Donald from Pollokshields. We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of this youngster. We believe that Glasgow has benefited from having a population with a wide variety of backgrounds and we commit ourselves to redoubling our efforts to fight racism in our schools and communities and urge all other bodies in Glasgow to do the same. Whatever the circumstances of this incident, there is a need for more facilities and other resources in the area in order to bring young people, families and communities together.";

"Council resolves that elected members should no longer be allowed to smoke in the City Chambers. Therefore, the room currently allocated for members' smoking should be reallocated to another use. Council believes members should be prepared to set a good example as we seek to improve the health of our citizens.";

"This Council agrees to establish a moratorium on the eviction of asylum seekers whose claims have been deemed to fail, but who will not be returned or receive a direction to return notice to their country of origin.

We further endeavour to establish a means of humane sustenance by seeking hard case support from immigration authorities or other means through the Scottish Executive, in order that those who have suffered so much are not further thrown into destitution or exploitation."; and

"This Council recognises that the provision of nursery education has an established national curriculum, national standards for delivery and a national care standard.

As such we resolve to establish through COSLA a national pay and grading settlement for all Nursery Nurses in Scotland."
