| (a) | by Bailie David McDonald:- "Council notes that people with paralysis and serious spinal cord injuries have an impaired ability to regulate their body temperature due to their inability to constrict their blood vessels or body shiver. Therefore Council asks that the Chief Executive and the Leader of the Council write to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, the Rt Hon James Purnell MP expressing our support for the campaign by Spinal Injuries Scotland which calls on the UK Government to extend the Winter Fuel Payment to people under the age of 60 living with a spinal cord injury." |
| (b) | by Councillor Danny Alderslowe:- "The Council notes that the International Community must reach a global agreement on Climate Change by December 2009 in Copenhagen. The Council further notes the intentions of other countries, such as The Maldives, to become carbon neutral over the next 10 years, by shifting from fossil fuels to renewable energy use and production. The Council will share good practice in sustainability and promote partnership working with other countries to research and develop a zero-carbon footprint for our present and future generations." |
