Consultation

The people of Glasgow have been consulted on our ambitions for a lasting legacy.

The people of Glasgow have had the opportunity to have their say about our ambitions for a lasting legacy, through involvement in a Health Impact Assessment (HIA).

The purpose of this work was to give the people of Glasgow the opportunity to consider:

  • the potential health and wellbeing impacts of the Games
  • how any potential negative impacts could be minimised
  • how any positive impacts could be maximised

The process involved a scoping stage involving over 120 decision-makers and service providers across Glasgow, and included a systematic review of sport events literature.

The National Standards for Community Engagement were adopted as the quality standard for this process, and involved a comprehensive process of community engagement with over 3,000 people between April 2008 until March 2009.
