The 2014 Bid was officially submitted by Commonwealth Games Scotland.
Glasgow, represented by Glasgow City Council, was selected as Scotland’s host city for the Games and is a secondary funder of the Games.
The Scottish Government is the third organisation in the partnership and is the principal funder of the Games.
Glasgow 2014 Ltd, the Organising Committee (OC) for the Games, is a limited company whose members are the Scottish Government, the Council and Commonwealth Games Scotland. The OC is tasked with delivery of the Games, charged with turning the 240 page Bid Document into reality, producing detailed business plans showing what will be done, when and at what cost.
Glasgow City Council is responsible for delivering a number of the venues as well as a lasting legacy from the Games for the city and people of Glasgow.
The council will also deliver the Commonwealth Games village and the transport strategic plan on behalf of the Organising Committee.
