Credit Check with Experian

You can never be 100% sure of anyone when starting out in business, but sometimes it's worthwhile to invest a little time and money before you start and put yourself ahead of the game.

  • If a potential sale is more money than a member is prepared to lose, then an in-depth status report is highly recommended on all corporate customers.
  • Details are available on approximately one million limited companies presently registered in Great Britain of which around 700,00 actually trade. Companies who started trading within the last 18 months will probably not yet have filed their first annual accounts so only a profile report will be available.
  • Small companies need only file abbreviated accounts and there may be no profit or loss figures shown, although a credit score will be given based on the balance sheet and other factors.
  • Non-Limited companies can also be credit referenced.  Using a wealth of information on businesses and the people who run them, Experian are able to cross reference the range of variables in our scorecard, to generate the most advanced and highly predictive score in the market for Non-limited businesses.
  • Status reports can only be regarded as a tool in helping make a decision to grant credit.

The Commercial Delphi Score

By providing a risk score for Limited Companies and Non-limited businesses, the Commercial Delphi scorecard predicts the financial stability and ability of a Limited Company or a Non-limited business to meet its financial commitments over a 12-month period.

Using statistical techniques to calculate risk, Commercial Delphi reduces the element of subjectivity in lending and trade credit decisions, enabling businesses to manage debt more effectively.
