Energy Efficiency in Business
British small business is wasting as much as 30% of its energy. With SMEs footing an annual energy bill of £3.5 billion, this amounts to a loss of £1.1 billion or £7,000 per business (source: The Carbon Trust).
Saving energy makes an immediate difference to your organisation's bottom line. This means extra profit or more money which can be reinvested in staff, training or improved facilities.
By using energy more efficiently business can also help the environment. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, which are a by-product of traditional methods of energy generation and consumption, are believed to be a key contributing factor to global warming.
The workplace is a major consumer of energy and has a big role to play in energy efficiency.
