Glasgow4Business
Glasgow City Council’s Development & Regeneration Services have identified developing the local economy is one of the City Council’s key priorities. The Council is achieving this through pursuing a pro-business agenda and the development of innovative business support projects, which seeks to remove constraints to business growth and business start-ups. We seek to assist local businesses to grow and develop into competitive and sustainable employers of local people.
Glasgow4Business will offer new and emerging young businesses the opportunity to receive one to one business advice, marketing information and support on their business proposals. In addition, the applicants who require business premises would be given an opportunity to apply for a rent free commercial premises.
The applicants who register interest in the rent free property and meet the eligibility criteria will be selected through a competitive bidding process as demand is likely to outstrip available supply.
Consequently, the property allocation will be based on those applicants that are able to demonstrate the commercial sustainability of their proposals. In addition they require to show the wider benefits to the local economy in respect of market coverage, job creation and future growth prospects. It is unlikely we would support business proposals that would impair existing local services or which would cause local business displacement.
All applicants will be required to work with our partner organisation Business Gateway to seek advice and support in preparing the application and a business proposal for consideration.
