All applicants must submit a business plan of no longer than 40 pages, excluding appendices. It must have the generally accepted components in a business plan, including, but not limited to, the following elements;
Table of contents
Executive summary
Industry and Target Market Analysis
Marketing Plan
Operations Plan
Milestones showing the expected timing of steps in the development of the venture
Full set of Financials, including, last set of audited accounts and most recent set of management accounts these should be seamless, at least three years of financial forecasts together with supporting assumptions. Companies trading for less than 1 year are required to submit forecasts only.
The financials should identify the full investment required, where it will be sourced from (documentary evidence required) and what it will be spent on.
All entries must be clearly identified in the submission, and a contact name, address, telephone and e-mail address must be provided.
All plans must be original. The entrants must attest to those facts in the submission by signing the terms and conditions attached. Submissions and the original concepts they contain are recognised as confidential and will not be disclosed outside the committee of judges without the entrants permission.
The finalists will be selected to make a presentation of no more than 10 minutes to the judging panel.
All scores given by judges are final and binding.
The winners will be judged on:
A compelling explanation of the business opportunity
Innovativeness of the plan
Clear delineation of market and its size
Strategy for capturing market share
Management Teams Qualifications and abilities
Financial plan that is consistent with the market size, strategy and expected returns
Effective communication of all of the above in the plan and presentation
The applicants will be notified by Glasgow City Council and the winners posted on
www.glasgow.gov.uk/glasgowchallengefund
