Entry Criteria

 

 

Please ensure you meet the Glasgow Business Challenge Fund entry criteria

  • The competition is open to all Glasgow businesses which have been operating for less than three years, who are paying non-domestic rates and employ less than 250 employees worldwide.
  • The company must be able to demonstrate that they commenced trading no more than three years prior to the date of entry to this fund.
  • All applicant businesses must have their Head office based within the city boundary. 
  • Can demonstrate strong entrepreneurial spirit and seek to grow a national or international business.
  • Where the management team offer strong leadership and motivation.
  • The business is committed to equal opportunities in practice.
  • The business must be completely independent and not part or wholly owned or controlled by any other organisation.
  • The business requires to demonstrate a continuous trading since its inception and can show sustained growth in sales and profit.
  • Only one application per applicant/business will be accepted.
  • Please check the Terms and Conditions as certain business exclusions apply.
  • The winner agrees to work with Glasgow City Council’s Management Training Division and participate in a Business Development Review prior to the drawdown of the £20,000 prize.  The award will be released in tranches which be determined by outcome of the review.   
  • The Business Services team or an agent appointed by the Council will monitor the company for up to 2 years following the disbursal of the award to assist with planned business growth.
