Early Response (ER)
Glasgow City Council is offering the services of an expert appraisal to Glasgow companies who have expressed concern about trading through the current economic downturn. An ‘Early Response’ team of experts will carry out independent reviews of ‘distressed’ companies; who have a significant presence in Glasgow and are experiencing trading problems due to the recession.
The ER programme is free to eligible* companies trading in Glasgow. Offering the independent, honest-broker advice and counsel of an expert in business and financial planning.
The aim of the ER programme is to offer your company:
- an objective review of your company’s current financial trading position
- an assessment of whether your company has a viable future
- consider whether your company can survive in its current form
- expert assessment whether there are parts of your business that can be saved
The expert will investigate the following areas of your business
- Facilities
- Operation
- Sales
- Financial Statements / Controls
- Major Liabilities
- Banking / Financing Facilities
- Current / Prospective Equity Holders
- Staff / Payroll
- Hard Choices
To be eligible your company must fall into one or more of the following categories:
- existing SME businesses trading in Glasgow
- employing five or more people
- trading from business premises or Council premises
- in receipt of a loan from the Council or
- considering making application for financial support from the Council
Currently, retail companies and companies trading locally are not eligible for this support.
