1.1 The production of a single plan for Glasgow is a significant step and marks the beginning of a new era for development in the City. The Plan provides a focus for private sector investment and aspires to facilitate the convergence of all relevant public sector programmes for physical change in the coming years. Harmonisation of these programmes should help contribute to achieving added value and value for money. The Plan will, therefore, contribute to improving certainty and increasing public and private sector confidence in, and understanding of, the future shape of Glasgow.
