1.25 The first step in the process of delivering the new City Plan was the publication, in August 1998, of the City Plan Review - Glasgow a New Beginning. This document highlighted a range of issues facing the City and set out, for the first time in a single document, all the Council's development control policies. The document constituted the consultation stage in the production of the City Plan. Following a 10 week period for the submission of comments, 130 representations were received.

1.26 Generally, these responses supported and endorsed a radical new planning approach being adopted in the Plan. The needs identified in the Review are addressed in the Plan and appropriate responses made in what represents a significant milestone in planning for the City.
