5.33 While many of the City’s industrial and business areas have contracted due to lack of investment, some areas have the potential to make a more positive contribution to the economic well-being of the City. The Helen Street corridor is an example of where the Council, working in partnership with Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, has invested in infrastructure and environmental improvements, to create a sought-after industrial/business location. The Council has identified industrial and business areas of City-wide significance (see Part 2 policy IB 2: Strategic Industrial and Business Areas). These will provide a context for infrastructure investment, environmental improvements and site preparation.
