4.39 The considerable progress made in renewing neighbourhoods by community-based Housing Associations needs to be sustained. The Alliance Strategy proposes an Action Plan for Community Regeneration to ensure that the reversal of decline in some of Glasgow’s neighbourhoods continues. The Action Plan seeks to improve or redevelop unimproved Housing Association stock and develop new affordable rented housing. At a City level, the development policy principles provide a broad development framework within which community-based housing associations can pursue their renewal programme. Within Areas of Focus the production of Local Development Strategies will provide the context for sustainable regeneration and, in turn, support the aims of the Alliance Strategy.
