Adopted City Plan : 01 August 2003

City Plan - Part 2 - Development Policies - Section 1 - Development Policy Principles

DEV 13 - Transport Infrastructure

The areas designated ‘TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE’ are the City’s network of motorways and major roads, rail corridors and main bus and railway stations that are essential to the City’s function as the centre of the Conurbation for residential, shopping, commercial, industry and business and entertainment activities. The Council will encourage proposals that continue to support a sustainable transport network, assist the regeneration of the City and improve the quality of the environment of the transport corridors and associated facilities. Developments that would reduce the City’s ability to provide effective transport infrastructure will be resisted.
