Glasgow’s city centre remains the largest and most successful shopping destination outside London and continues to attract considerable national and international investment in retail, business, hotel, leisure and residential developments.
It is estimated that Glasgow city centre is a magnet for over 90 million shoppers a year, spending approximately £2.4 billion in the process.
The city centre is also the third most attractive overseas tourist and UK short break destination and it is fundamental that to keep Glasgow attractive in both retail and tourism sectors we continue to deliver our vision and investment programme to ensure that the city centre reaches its full potential.
To achieve this goal we shall continue to work in partnership to develop the city centre action plan and ensure that we meet the needs of people who live, work and visit the city.
