This section directs users with a development proposal to the planning policies and guides in City Plan 2 which should be consulted, prior to submitting a planning application to the City Council for consideration.
The Council places importance on a number of factors and the following basic list of issues will be taken into account when assessing your planning application. The Plan contains policies dealing with these issues.
- Quality of development design
- Energy efficiency / Measures to tackle climate change
- Provision of sustainable drainage
- Use of sustainable materials
- Preservation, and/or enhancement, of residential and environmental amenity.
If the address and/or postcode of the development proposal site is known, the list of development policies and guides will be tailored to that specific location. For instance, if the property or site in question is located in a conservation area or if it is a listed building, the relevant conservation policies will be highlighted.
When no site-specific information is available, then a more general list of development policies and guides will be provided.
