Universities and Colleges
Case Study:
The UK Wind Energy Systems doctoral training centre at the University of Strathclyde is bringing together pioneering research and advanced skills training to help Scotland meet its ambitious renewable energy targets, as well as addressing the skills shortage in the sector.
The Centre is actively supported by many of the leading companies in the wind sector and is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, offering 10 PhD student ships every year to talented graduates in a wide range of disciplines.
The University’s wind energy expertise is unrivalled in the UK and its academics are working closely with industrial partners to develop bigger, more effective wind turbines for on and off-shore, and to enable greater use of the wind energy resource.
