Glasgow City Council would now like to have your views on a Climate Change Action Plan.
Glasgow City Council is developing a Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan and your views on Climate Change are important. By taking time to fill the questionnaire below, you will be contributing towards the development of a more comprehensive document and subsequently more effective actions.
If you wish to be involved in this process or would like to receive further information, leave your name and contact at the end of this questionnaire.
The Council has determined that in accordance with the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005 a Strategic Environmetal Assessment will be required for the Climate Change Strategy. A copy of the determination can be accessed below and further information on this process is available on request.
According to the Scottish Government, Climate change is widely recognised as the most serious environmental threat facing our planet. Emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs), from the burning of fossil fuels (e.g. oil, coal, gas), are already making an impact on the world's climate.
Perversely, those in the developing world - those who have contributed least to the problem historically and who are most vulnerable to its effects - will suffer the worst impacts. But rich nations are not immune and Scotland has recent first hand experience of the types of climate extremes that will become increasingly common as a result of climate change. By the end of this century Scotland will have warmer, wetter winters, less snowfall and an increased risk of flooding.
Please complete the questionnaire online, including any comment you wish to have considered for inclusion in the plan.
