Climate Change

Glasgow City Council would now like to have your views on a Climate Change Action Plan.

As part of its ongoing commitment to tackling Climate Change, Glasgow City Council is currently consulting on its draft  Climate Change Strategy and would, therefore, wish to invite you to participate in the consultation process.

This Document is the result of initial consultation with a variety of stakeholders and will approach Climate Change through nine subject areas: education, energy, waste, transport, water, cultural & natural heritage, built environment, sustainable procurement and health & wellbeing.

A fundamental principle underpinning the project is that achieving sustainability and addressing climate change is not the responsibility of just one person, team or organisation; it  involves a series of issues that cut across a number of areas and issues, thus the best way to make improvements is to work in partnership and adopt an interdisciplinary approach.

Consultation is an essential part of the strategy’s development, as its effectiveness will depend on the commitment of everyone involved. Your views on how we can tackle climate change and contribute towards a more sustainable city are, therefore, essential.

The draft document is available online or at your local library. We are inviting written responses to this consultation be submitted by 18 March 2010.

Please send your response to:
