Environment Strategy and Action Plan 2006-2010

Environement Strategy and Action Plan 2006 - 2010

This document gives an overview of the wide range of activities relating to environmental protection and enhancement that are currently being carried out or
supported by Glasgow City Council (GCC). It also serves
as an introduction to a number of new policies intended
to help to address the many challenges we face in both
our local and global environment.

A key intention of this strategy is to put the initiatives currently underway or planned into a strategic context and to introduce a consolidated GCC environmental action plan with quantifiable targets.

A summary of the environmental actions and associated targets that are underway and planned can be found in the final section of this document. Progress in achieving these objectives is reported annually.

To help conserve resources, it’s hoped that where possible, residents will review the Environment Strategy from the Councils website.
