Energy Action Scotland is the national charity which aims to eliminate fuel poverty by raising awareness of fuel poverty, particularly as it affects low income households; working towards affordable warmth for all; identifying effective solutions which can transform cold, damp houses into warm, dry homes; and securing public and private investment in domestic energy efficiency initiatives.

The Energy Saving Trust was set up by the UK Government after the 1992 Rio Earth Summit and is one of the UK's leading organisations addressing the damaging effects of climate change. Their goal is to achieve the sustainable and efficient use of energy, and to cut the carbon dioxide emissions, which are the key contributor to global warming. They are a non-profit organisation funded by government and the private sector.
The Boiler Efficiency database is produced by the Building Research Establishment , the Government’s principal organisation for research in the construction industry. It lists all major central heating boilers on sale in the UK and indicates their relative efficiency. It is updated regularly.

Energywatch is the independent gas and electricity consumer champion. They provide free, impartial information and advice to consumers, across England, Scotland and Wales, about gas and electricity issues. They produce a range of consumer information, which is available from all their regional and national offices and can also be viewed on their website.
Ofgem is the regulator for Britain's gas and electricity industries. Its role is to protect and advance the interests of consumers by promoting competition where possible, and through regulation only where necessary.
The Carbon Trust is an independent not for profit company set up by the Government with support from business to “take the lead on low carbon technology and innovation in this country, and put Britain in the lead internationally”(Tony Blair).
