Accelerated Re-provisioning Programme

As part of the Glasgow stock transfer in March 2003 when the City Council transferred all its housing stock to Glasgow Housing Association (GHA), the Scottish Government made extra resources available to enable GHA and RSLs in the city to build houses for GHA tenants in order to facilitate GHA’s substantial rehousing and demolition programme.

GHA and RSLs would each build 3,000 houses as part of this agreement.

Originally, apart from a portion of new build just after transfer the RSL programme was intended to take effect after 7 years with GHA’s programme being completed before then.

Since then among other things the GHA's Demolition Programme has expanded considerably and during 2006 the Council with its partners approached Scottish Ministers to have the RSL programme rescheduled.  Scottish Ministers approved the re-scheduling together with an Implementation Plan in October 2006.
