Common Housing Register

A key element of the LHS is the introduction of a Common Housing Register (CHR) for Glasgow.

A CHR is a single housing list for a local authority area, maintained (on a database) on behalf of all social housing providers. It is accessed by applicants through completion of a single or common application form.  Currently, applicants may have to fill in a number of forms to secure accommodation in a part of the City.

Through Scottish Executive funding, the CHR Working Group, and a dedicated project team, the Glasgow CHR aims to:

  • secure the participation of Registered Social Landlords
  • develop the appropriate IT solution develop a Common Application Form (CAF) establish an effective information and advice strategy produce a training plan for staff operating a CHR.

At present, development in the North West Pathfinder area is ongoing, and it is anticipated that it will be live later this year.
