How are the Rates calculated?
The amount of Rates due for each property is determined by multiplying the Rateable Value of the property by the Rate Poundage.
The Rateable Value of a property is determined by the City Assessor.
The Rate Poundage is determined by the Scottish Government and is set at £0.458 for the financial year 2008/09.
