A Private Hire Car Licence is required to operate a Private Hire Car licensed by Glasgow City Council.

Before applying for a Private Hire Car Licence applicants should consult the Licensing Section at the address below to ensure the vehicle is of an approved type. Please read the guidance note
before lodging your application for a Private Hire Car Licence.
An application for the Grant of a Licence must be accompanied by the registration document for the vehicle concerned. If the vehicle has yet to be purchased a declaration must be completed (see link below).
Applications should be lodged with the Licensing Section at the address below.

There is a fee for the application; the fee is non-refundable.
Please refer to the Licensing Section's Fees and Charges document for details of the current fee and accepted payment methods.
The application will not be accepted without the correct fee.
