Glasgow City Council operates a minimum criteria policy for vehicles to be licensed:
- vehicle must be of an approved type
- vehicle registration date is less than five years before the date on which the application for a licence or substitution of a vehicle is made, unless that vehicle has been licensed by the Council within the previous twelve months
- minimum engine size of the vehicle is 1600cc
- minimum width of the back seat is 48”/122cm
- minimum of four doors
To enable you to apply for a Substitute Vehicle (Taxi) Licence, the application form below can be downloaded, completed and returned with the appropriate fee to the Licensing Section.
The application must be accompanied by the registration document for the substitute vehicle.
The fee is £25.
