Roads and Footways Permits

It is essential to obtain the relevant permit before carrying out works affecting any of the roads and footways within the city.

The following permits are all available online:

• for any operation occupying part of the road surface. (including scaffolding operations)
• for any operation which involves breaking the road surface
• for any operation placing and using a crane on a road
• for any operation placing and using a skip on a road
• for a footway crossing (dropped kerb)

Please Note: There is a 10 working day processing time for all Roads and Footway permits with the exception of Scaffolding Permits which have a 15 day processing time.
