How to Comment on Applications and information on how applications are handled

You should always view the plans, if possible, before making your comments and any comments should be made as soon as possible after the neighbour notification or weekly list date. Representations can only be made on valid planning grounds – the leaflet Have Your Say is available for download in PDF format and gives full details of how to make representations including an explanation of valid planning grounds and how your representation will be dealt with by the Council.

Comments made later than the period specified will not be accepted and your representations will not be taken into account.

If you wish to make a representation about any application, it should be made either in writing or by email to the addresses below (please do not make the same representation to both). All representations must include a valid name and address or it will not be considered and it would be helpful if the application reference number was included as well.

You should remember that all representations are available for public inspection and any comments which are racist will not be accepted and may be sent to the police for further investigation.

Email address for comments: planning.representations@drs.glasgow.gov.uk

Representations should be sent to:

A factsheet entitled The Development Management Process, which may assist you, gives advice on the procedures involved in the planning application process. This can be downloaded in PDF format.

The Council operates two schemes of delegation – a Council Scheme of Delegation and the Adopted Statutory Scheme of Delegation. The latter scheme is approved by the Scottish Ministers and applications approved under this scheme of delegation are reviewed through the Planning Local Review Committee rather than the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals.
