How to Comment on Applications

You should always view the plans, if possible, before making your comments and any comments should be made as soon as possible after the weekly list date. Representations can only be made on valid planning grounds – the leaflet Have Your Say is available for download in PDF format and gives full details of how to make representations including an explanation of valid planning grounds and how your representation will be dealt with by the Council.

If comments are made later than 14 days after the weekly list date it is possible that the application will have already been accepted on a Committee agenda or be determined and your representations may not be taken into account.

If you wish to make a representation about any application, it should be made either in writing to the address below or by email. All representations must include a valid name and address or it will not be considered and it would be helpful if the application reference number was included as well.

You should remember that all representations are available for public inspection and any comments which are racist will not be accepted and may be sent to the police for further investigation.
