Buildings at Risk

Local Authorities have a statutory obligation to ensure that listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas are maintained to a reasonable level.  Where such buildings fall into a state of disrepair, the authority can use statutory action under the terms of the planning acts to address the disrepair.

Glasgow City Council undertook a survey of all listed buildings within it's boundary in 2004.
