Regeneration of Oatlands

Architectural Design

The Holmes Partnership is the architect appointed by Gladedale for the first three phases of the Oatlands Regeneration and for the GHA housing at Braehead Street.  The houses have been designed in an interesting, modern interpretation of Scottish architectural style, in accordance with the Council’s award-winning Action Plan/Design Guide.

Reconstituted stone (both red and buff) and white roughcast render are the predominant facing materials for the buildings - these materials are also being used for the more modern-looking six-storey riverside flatted blocks and will continue to be utilised in future phases as a means of creating a unified character for the neighbourhood.

Future phases will mainly be developed in further variations of the Scottish style, in accordance with the strongly-expressed wishes of local residents during the consultation process.  The project engineers are URS.
