About Us
Scientific Services operates out of the Colston laboratory, situated in Springburn, Glasgow. The laboratory is accredited to the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) for the work they do, giving clients confidence in our results. Our accreditation schedule can be found on the Glasgow Scientific Services page in the UKAS website.
Labportal
Glasgow Scientific Services now offers all clients access to their data via a secure website known as Labportal. This allows clients to track the progress of their samples and data in real time, download test reports, certificates and any other associated files. Client installed software is not required and the site can be accessed from any web enabled device. Please contact Gary Walker, Scientific Services Manager for further information. The laboratory houses fifty professionals providing a comprehensive scientific service to:
- local authorities
- private business
- government agencies
We do not interface with the general public, but provide a support service to other Local Government Departments such as Environmental Health and Trading Standards.
The rigorous UKAS accredited quality system supervised by our Quality Managers ensures the reliability of the results we produce from analysis and measurement. This is reinforced by our participation in national and international quality assurance schemes.
