The lucky ticket holders for the sold-out George Square spectacular’ Glasgow’s Hogmanay’ as well as New Year revellers in and around the city centre can take advantage of the £5.50 return service from Buchanan Bus Station.
The organisers of Glasgow’s Hogmanay with Radio Clyde asked First to lay on dedicated services to encourage people, where possible, to leave their cars at home. Tickets are going fast so those wanting to take advantage of this great offer should get their tickets now!
Councillor Alex Mosson, City Events spokesperson urged revellers to stay safe this Hogmanay and said:
"Make it a safe and happy Hogmanay in Glasgow this year and where possible leave cars at home. The service that First are providing means that everyone is able to travel home safely for a small charge, book your ticket now."
This year’s sellout Glasgow’s Hogmanay looks set to be the event of the year, with headline ban The Proclaimers set to entertain the crowd with their worldwide hits "I’m Gonna Be (500 miles)" and "Letter from America". Glasgow’s hottest new band Speedway, Bjorn Again and violinest and vocalist Simone Welsh are also helping to welcome in the New Year at George Square.
Party revellers throughout Glasgow can take any regular bus service into the city that night (normal services will be curtailed around 2100hrs), and return home on any of the special Hogmanay services, which will leave at regular intervals from Buchanan Bus Station from after the bells until 0400hrs. As well as the special Hogmanay services, First’s eight 24 hour services will continue to operate as normal.

Given the excellent line up that Glasgow City Council has planned for the night, we are confident that the services will prove to be as popular as they have been in the past".
Eighteen services will run altogether, covering all areas of the First network, which stretches across the city as far out as Dumbarton, Cumbernauld, East Kilbride, Motherwell and Paisley. To avoid missing the bus people are being urged to buy their ticket in advance.
Tickets are on sale now at all SPT travel centres, selected McColls, independent FirstCard retailers or at George Square’s Tourist Information Centre. Buchanan Bus Station is the only pick up point on all Hogmanay night bus services.
Revellers are advised to allow plenty of time for their journey into the city on Hogmanay as demand for regular services is expected to be high.
