Council Welcomes Additional £7M for Housing Associations

Glasgow City Council has been awarded more than £7m to distribute to housing associations

Councillor Eamon Fitzgerald, Convener of the Housing Development Committee said: “This is great news, we’re delighted that the Scottish Executive has awarded an extra £7.221 m for local housing, to be spent before the end of this financial year.

“This money comes on top of the £71m budget for development funding awarded to the council earlier this year. This extra money will go to housing associations across the city to support much needed social housing projects.

“More than half the cash will be used to support housing projects for people with particular needs while the remainder will be spent on disabled adaptations."
