West End farmers’ market to temporarily move to school
The fortnightly Farmers’ Market at Mansfield Park in Partick will temporarily move for a few months from this weekend.
The market will move from Mansfield Park to Dowanhill Primary School, Havelock Street (off Highburgh Road) from Saturday 23 February.
The move is necessary because the Mansfield Park is being redeveloped as a new park, and will therefore be unavailable for several months.
As part of the redevelopment works, a new slabbed area - a significant improvement on the existing blaes surface on the football pitch currently used - will be made available for the market on its move back to its current location, fronting onto Dumbarton Road.
The market is held on the second and fourth Saturday of every month from 10am - 2pm, and entertainment includes a range of musicians plus a face painter/clown for children.
There are more than forty stalls at the market selling a wide range of top quality fresh produce direct from Scottish farmers and producers.
The Farmers’ Market held in Queen’s Park every first and third Saturday of the month will continue as normal.
