It is a requirement of local authorities that they undertake an open space audit and on the basis of it, prepare an open space strategy for their area. The Council employed specialist consultants to produce a Consultative Draft – Glasgow Open Space Strategy (GOSS). It identifies six mutually supportive themes designed to frame the Council’s future approach to the functions, management and delivery of open space on a city wide basis. The Consultative Draft GOSS is accompanied by a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Interim Environmental Report (ER) on which comments are also welcomed.
The Council sees public consultation as an important opportunity to comment on, add to and refine the GOSS and its interim ER. The consultation process seeks to produce a document with a broad and committed endorsement for final adoption by the Council. This will be used to inform the process of producing environmental policies and guidance in the new Local Development Plan (LDP).
Public consultation is now closed, thank you for your comments.
