Social Work Services offer assistance to children and their families facing difficulties in their lives who would benefit from advice that would make a difference to how they approach and work through those difficulties.
Families often find these problems overwhelming. They also face barriers to achieving a better start in their children’s lives and a better outcome to their parenting. Social Work Services aim to work with families and partner organisations to create positive opportunities for change in their lives.
For information on how to contact your local social work office see How to Access Services. Apart from initial information and advice it is usually necessary to be assessed for a service. There is no charge for assessment, but for some services there may be a charge. This normally depends upon your income. For fuller information on how to comment or complain see Your Views.
You can also contact Families for Children via our feedback form.
