Families and Children - Mental Health
Glasgow City Council offers social work services to children up to the age of 18 and their families who are affected by mental health problems.
The staff are part of a team of professionals providing direct support to individuals. They can also refer people to the broader range of services offered by the department.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Teams are located across the city. Community teams work together with children and young people to help families understand their problems.
Teams consist of a combination of:
- Nurse Therapists
- Consultant Psychiatrists
- Clinical Psychologists
- Occupational Therapists
- Psychotherapists
- Play Therapists
- Social Workers
Teams are located across the city:
- Gorbals - Child and Adolescent
- Bridgeton - Child and Adolescent
- Knightswood - Child and Adolescent
- Possil - Child and Adolescent
and within the inpatient units:
- Gartnavel – Adolescent
- Yorkhill – Child
These services can be accessed by referrals from your G.P. or an Educational Psychologist.
