Directions to North East local social work offices

 

Easterhouse (Westerhouse Road)
Westerhouse Road is located beside John Wheatley College and Westwood Business Centre.
From Easterhouse Shopping Centre (Front Entrance), turn right and follow road straight ahead, pass car park and McDonalds, cross over road and walk on for 100 yards.

By Bus
From City Centre
Bus Numbers 38, 40, 41 and 51
Bus will take you to Easterhouse Shopping Centre, and then take the second stop after Centre.  Cross over the road and the local Social Work Office is beside John Wheatley College and Westwood Business Centre.  

Bus number X19 will go along Aberdalgie Road into Auchinlea Road and local Social Work Office is located one stop after Shopping Centre.


By Train
The nearest station is Easterhouse
From Glasgow Queen Street lower level there are regular trains to Airdrie and Drumgelloch.  Get off the train at Easterhouse and come out of train station and turn right onto Easterhouse Road.  Walk along Easterhouse Road crossing over the M8 and keep walking up Easterhouse Road which goes directly into Westerhouse Road.  The local Social Work Office is on the left hand side and is the brand new brick building with blue windows.  

The walk from Easterhouse Train Station to the local Social Work Office is at least a 15-20 minute walk.

 

Parkhead - Newlands Centre
The Newlands Centre is located on Springfield Road, close to Parkhead Cross.
From City Centre, stay on the right hand side of the road along the Gallowgate until you reach Parkhead Cross.  Then turn right into Springfield Road and local Social Work Office is about 400 yards.

By Bus
From City Centre
Bus Numbers 61, 62, 240 and 255
Get off bus at Parkhead Cross.   Walk up to the first set of traffic lights at Parkhead Cross.  Cross over the road and continue along Springfield Road.  The local Social Work Office is about 400 yards down Springfield Road on the right hand side. 
Bus number 43 will take you along London Road, pass Celtic Park and then up Springfield Road.


By Train
The nearest station is Carntyne
Take train from Glasgow Queen Street lower level (Airdrie and Drumgelloch) and take any bus from Shettleston Road to Parkhead Cross.

 

Royston - Glenbarr Street

Glenbarr Street is situated off Royston Road.  Travelling along Royston Road from the City Centre, turn right into Glenbarr Street. Walk the length of the street and turn left into Rhymer Street. The entrance to the social work office is on your left.

From Queen Street Station:
First Bus numbers 11 and 43
Alight from the bus on Royston Road.

 

By train
Get the train to Barnhill from Glasgow Queen Street lower level.  Barnhill Station is on Petershill Road. Exit the station and turn right.  Walk to the end of Petershill Road and turn left onto Springburn Road. Walk to the end of Springburn Road and you will see traffic lights on the left hand side. Turn left at the traffic lights, this is Royston Road. Walk past Saint Roch’s school and turn right into Glenbarr Street.  Please note that it is a half hour walk to Glenbarr St from the train station, however there are bus stops outside Barnhill train station that will take you along Springburn Road.

 

Springburn - Petershill Road

The local social work office is in the Duplex building across from the barrier at City Building on Petershill Road and can be accessed by the gatehouse.

Alight from the bus on Petershill Road at the bus stop next to City Building.

 

From Central Station:
First Bus number 56
Alight from the bus on Petershill Road at the bus stop next to City Building.

 

By train

Get the train to Barnhill from Glasgow Queen Street lower level.  Barnhill Station is on Petershill Road. Exit the station and turn left. Walk along Petershill Road and turn right into City Building at the gatehouse and barrier.  The local social work office is straight ahead in the Duplex building across from the barrier.
