Developing Services: The Homelessness Strategy
The Homelessness Strategy sets out Glasgow City Council’s vision for the prevention and alleviation of homelessness in Glasgow.
Through this strategy, the Council and its parties are committed to a long-term vision in which homelessness is prevented wherever possible. Where homelessness does occur, it will be addressed in a way that seeks to minimise the personal, social and economic damage it can cause. The Glasgow Hostel Closure and Reprovisioning Programme: Interim Findings from a Longitudinal Evaluation
The main aim of this evaluation study is to assess the resettlement outcomes for ex residents of two of Glasgow's former large-scale male homeless hostels, Peter McCann House and James Duncan House. These closures represented the final stages of the Glasgow Hostel Closure and Reprovisioning Programme overseen by the Glasgow Homelessness Partnership since 2003. Evaluation of the experiences of single people presenting as homeless in Glasgow
This report presents the findings from an evaluation study of the experience of single person households presenting as homeless in Glasgow in 2007/8. The study, part of a wider evaluation of the Glasgow Hostel Closure and Reprovisioning Programme, examines whether the hostel closure and re-provisioning programme has made a significant and positive change to the experience of single person households presenting as homeless in Glasgow. The research included in-depth, qualitative interviews with 27 service providers and 30 single people who had presented as homeless in Glasgow since March 2007 (including both first time and repeat presenters).
