Your Community - Glasgow Learning Disability Partnership
Everybody has the right to be an active and equal member of his or her community. These are some of the ways that the Glasgow Learning Disability Partnership is working to help people with learning disabilities to be part of their own local communities:-

Evenings, weekends and short breaks
Short breaks services are important as they give people with learning disabilities and their carers a chance to have some time apart:
- for carers, breaks become more important as people get older and less able to carry out caring tasks
- for people with learning disabilities, breaks are often a time when they can take part in leisure activities that are not usually available
Glasgow Learning Disability Partnership is committed to good quality short break services. This includes improving existing residential services and the development of non-building based alternatives.
