Modernising Mental Health Services

Increasing numbers of people in Glasgow are able to receive care at home, avoiding the need to go into hospital, or shortening the time spent in hospital. To achieve this, Glasgow City Council are developing closer working links with health care services. Our shared aim is to provide more streamlined, high quality care at home for people who need treatment and support.

The Functional Framework Report outlines the ongoing work in developing a commissioning strategy for comprehensive community-based supports within the context of the implementation of the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.  The report summarises the functions required of a comprehensive mental health service for all mental health needs.
