Mental Health: What We Do
Mental Health issues can affect an individual at any time throughout their life. Advice and support from mainstream services is often helpful, but for some, specialist support services are better. This section is mainly about dedicated support services for adults aged 18-64 years old.
What we do
We offer information and advice about the range of services available to people who have mental health problems and their carer(s).
For individuals affected an assessment of their needs will be carried out. Depending on the outcome, support services may be available to help the individual and possibly their carer(s) too. Such services may be provided by Glasgow City Council, while others will be provided by voluntary organisations.
A financial contribution may be necessary but this will be based upon your ability to pay. Alternatively you may wish to consider making your own arrangements through the Direct Payments Scheme.
In addition to this, Glasgow City Council provides a Mental Health Officer service in accordance with its legal obligations.
