The NHS with Health Scotland have produced several booklets with information on coping with dementia:

  • Worried about your memory?
    - acknowledges and responds to people’s concerns about memory loss.  It provides information about the factors that can affect memory, including dementia, along with practical tips on how to protect memory and how to deal with memory loss. It aims to reassure people who are concerned about their memory and help them to consider whether they should see a doctor.
  • Facing dementia
    - how to live well with your diagnosis, aims to help people to understand and come to terms with a diagnosis of dementia. It provides practical information on living well after diagnosis, including tips on staying active, memory, money matters and planning for the future. Facing dementia was developed in partnership with the Scottish Dementia Working Group and is based on the real experiences of people with dementia and information that they find useful.
  • Coping with dementia
    - this book contains information and advice for people who care for someone in the middle to late stages of dementia (moderate to severe dementia). It aims to: help you feel less alone, give you practical advice on coping, help you to find caring more rewarding and less stressful, show you where to go for help and more.
