Ability Fest
The festival of opportunities for disabled people in the west of Scotland. Ability Fest was set up in 1999 by a group of practitioners working in support agencies with the aim of giving disabled adults, families, carers and professional staff a chance to find out about educational, volunteering, leisure and employment opportunities in west of Scotland.
Community Transport - Glasgow's Evening Visitor Service
If you live within Glasgow City then you can access this free door to door service to the following hospitals:
- Glasgow Royal Infirmary
- Stobhill Hospital
- Gartnavel General
- Western Infirmary
- Victoria Infirmary
- Southern General
This service is free and operates between 6pm - 10pm Monday to Friday.

DIGG is a confidential, impartial information, signposting and support service regarding all aspects of living with a physical disability. They deal with enquiries from the public, voluntary and statutory services.

Directgov offers disabled people information on a wide range of topics including independent living, financial support, health and social services, employment and travel.
Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC)
EHRC have a statutory remit to promote and monitor human rights; and to protect, enforce and promote equality across nine 'protected' grounds, including disability.
Glasgow Centre For Inclusive Living
GCIL works to promote the principles of Independent Living and, in particular, to assist disabled people in Glasgow who want to take more control over the support they need. GCIL is a user-led organisation, which means that it is run by and for disabled people.
Glasgow Disability Alliance
GDA is a membership-led organisation of disabled people and groups in Glasgow. Its mission is to act as a collective, representative voice of disabled people, promoting equality, rights and social justice.

Care Inspectorate (formerly Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland)
The Care Inspectorate regulate, inspect and support improvement of care and social work services across Scotland for the benefit of the people who use them. If you are unhappy with the standard of care offered by social work services or other care services then you can complain to the Care Inspectorate as well as making a complaint to us.
SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Air Forces, Association)
If you, or a person you support, has served any length of time, 1 day or more, in the armed forces and require assistance with adaptations, heating, clothing, housing, beds, bedding, etc. which social work cannot fund, or fully fun,d then the SSAFA may be able to help. Contact them on 0141 427 2804 or Glasgow@ssafa.org.uk with proof of connection with the armed forces. The SSAFA also assist in benefit claims and OT referrals.
