Support at home

Glasgow City Council organises and provides a range of support at home services to meet your particular needs, or assesses and arranges for you to receive a Direct Payment to buy your own services.


Who can access Support at Home Services?
Support at Home Services are for people who need support with personal and practical /domestic tasks and housing support tasks.


Depending on your level of need, these support services can be provided through Social Work Services.

How do I arrange for a Support at Home service?
You will require an assessment in order to access these services. This is normally arranged through your local social work office. To contact your local social work office use the button below.

What will it cost?
Most Support at Home services are chargeable.  However, as part of your assessment of needs you will be offered a free financial assessment to ensure that you receive all appropriate benefits available to you.

If your income is below the Council's charging level you will not be charged for the service.  For further information refer to the council's social care charging policy.

The Care Inspectorate, formerly Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland regulate, inspect and support improvement of social work and care services across Scotland for the benefit of the people who use them.  If you are unhappy with the standard of care offered by any of these services then you can complain to the Care Inspectorate as well as making a complaint to us.
