Dust and Debris

 

Complaints of debris and dust particle emissions are mainly associated with the following:

 

  • construction sites
  • renovation sites
  • demolitions
  • emissions from industrial/commercial premises

 

Concerns about dust or particle emissions should be reported to Land and Environmental Services, an Officer will visit the site and assess the situation, which may lead to appropriate action in terms of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

 

Contact with the Health and Safety Executive may also be made to expedite a solution to the problem.

 

Officers of this Service can give contractors practical advice on controlling dust i.e:

 

  • water spraying
  • screening
  • covering of skips, chutes etc.
  • reduction of vehicle speed within construction sites
